Letter from the Executive Director: New Year, New Look, New Location, New Incentives for Members

Happy New Year! I hope Run Wild Missoula’s first newsletter of the year finds you happy and healthy. The New Year is a time to make resolutions and changes for many of you; here at Run Wild Missoula we are using the New Year as an opportunity to make some positive changes.

1.    New Newsletter. You’ll notice that we’re pairing down our communication with you. In 2013, you’ll get one email newsletter from Run Wild Missoula each month. We have gradually been discontinuing our monthly print newsletter. The last issue of the print newsletter was December 2012. You can still view past newsletters on our website. We will use this blog, social media and our website to stay in touch during other times of the month. Our goal is to minimize emails to you and put all of the information you need in one monthly email newsletter.
2.    New Office. Run Wild Missoula will have an office that will be open to the public starting this week. Runner’s Edge has graciously let us use office space in the basement of their new building at 304 S. Higgins Ave. The office space is adjacent to large classroom space that the Runner’s Edge will also let us use for our training classes, Saturday Breakfast Runs and other events so we can serve our growing membership and training class participants. Please stop by and say hi next time you’re in the neighborhood.
3.    New Incentives for Members. We are adding new member incentives starting in 2013. You will receive a letter from Run Wild Missoula in the coming weeks with more details about what membership has to offer. Among the new benefits are an online volunteer tracking system where members can track their hours. Members who volunteer for 15 hours or more will receive a gift at the end of the year. We’re also starting a Spring and Fall Race Challenge in 2013 that is age-graded so members can compete with one another on a level playing field. We will continue to offer incentives like the 1200 / 2000 Mile Club and 7 Races for a Goodie. We’ll continue to give discounts on races and training classes– and the list of local businesses that offer discounts to RWM members continues to grow.

Finally, I hope you will respond to Run Wild Missoula’s end-of-year survey that was recently sent to you. The information from the survey helps us serve you better.

Happy New Year,
Eva Dunn-Froebig
Executive Director
