Missoula Marathon: Motivation

For a lot of Missoula runners, March is the month for their Missoula Marathon training to kick off.  You might have already been training or maybe you have been putting it off until the spring weather hits, but hopefully you are at least starting to think about it or put a plan in place.  When training is in full swing, most of us need motivation throughout the process and sometimes thoughts of hitting that finish line isn’t enough.  In the middle of a hot long run or an early morning run before work, it’s the small things that might get us through.  The Missoula Marathon is working hard to improve on the small things that make our event special and standout.  Next time you are struggling through a run and you need that one thing to get through it, maybe one of these will help!

* DJ, our graphic designer, designed a finisher medal in 2012 that received rave reviews.  So what could we do to make it better?  Well, if you think bigger is better, you will love this 2013’s finisher medal!  Don’t leave those neck exercises out of your strength training program… you will need it when you hit the finish!
* After crossing the finish line, you head to the Good Food Store tent to get recharged from their great spread.  After filling up and getting a little rest, now what?  We have some exciting new ideas to keep the energy high around the finish line and give you some exciting post race festivities.
* Looking for quick results?  Love your smartphone?  As soon as you finish this year, you will be able to scan your race number or you running buddy’s and get instant results.

Good luck with your training and when you need motivation, sometimes the small things help!
