Beginning Running Class Brings New Faces to the Club

Every fall the beginning running class inspires a new group of runners to lace up their shoes.  This popular 8 week class is back.  This is truly a beginner’s class and is designed for someone who has never run before or has taken a long break from running.  Our friendly and supportive coaches will help you go from coach to 5K in 8 fun filled weeks.  The class starts out slow with a one mile walk-run-walk and gradually works up to the 5K distance.  Past class participants have successfully completed the Pumpkin Run and have gone on to complete the Missoula Marathon or Half the following summer. The registration fee for the class is $10 for members and $35 for nonmembers.

Each participant will get coaching, leadership and advice from instructors Kelsi Camp,  Spring Mills & Miranda Ming. Everyone will also get a training program, training hat, motivational guest speakers, two weekly group runs and a great group to train with.   Visit the Run Wild Missoula website to sign up. Class starts Wednesday, August 21 at 6 p.m. and continues until the Pumpkin Run on October 20, 2013. Class meets every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and every Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the basement classroom at the Runner’s Edge, 304 N. Higgins Ave.  The first class on August 21st is informational and is a chance to meet the coaches and get all your questions about the class answered before we head out for our first run on Sunday August 24th.
