Run Wild Missoula promotes and supports running and walking as sports for people of all ages and abilities by: educating the general public about the benefits of running and walking; sponsoring and conducting races and other organized events; sponsoring or supporting health and fitness workshops and clinics; publishing a regular newsletter that includes a calendar of events, articles, and results of local races; maintaining a web site that includes general Run Wild Missoula information and running and walking events.
Run Wild Missoula also supports projects and programs in the community that promote running and other fitness-related activities. With more than 1,500 members, RWM organizes fitness activities, organized group runs, training classes, and of course, races (over a dozen held annually). Participation in our events range from 30 for our fitness classes to over 5,000 runners and walkers in last year’s Missoula Marathon and Half Marathon. The Missoula Marathon was voted the best marathon in the nation by the readers of
Runner’s World Magazine in 2010 and was named the Montana Tourism Event of the Year in 2011.
We are a large group of mostly volunteers with varied interests, careers and backgrounds, but we have one thing in common: We love to run or walk. We come together to organize races, training classes and other events, and to promote running and walking in the community. Most of us are volunteers, giving our valuable time and energy.

Carol and her husband have lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and relocated to Missoula in October 1999. She is married and has four grown children. Ryan Snyder was born and raised in stunning Missoula. After four glorious years touring the globe courtesy of the U. S. Army he spent seven restless years attempting to decide on a major at the University of Montana in Missoula. In the process he gleefully stumbled into the Information Technology field and has been mired there ever since. He took up running on a whim in 2009 and almost immediately fell in love with it. He feels a special fondness for the Missoula Marathon and credits the local running community with his almost accidental abandonment of a nearly sedentary lifestyle. It is his great pleasure to serve the Missoula running community in an attempt to give back. His lovely wife and daughter are constant inspirations for him to keep running. He continues to maintain that 5Ks are "just too damned hard."
Board meetings are held seven times a year on the fourth Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m. in January, February, April, June, August, October and November. Please contact Eva Dunn-Froebig if you wish to attend so we can make sure there is enough seating. We invite all members to attend the Annual Meeting every fall.
Eva Dunn-Froebig has been the Executive Director of Run Wild Missoula since March of 2009. She has a bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University, where she competed on the cross-country team, and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Montana. Eva was on staff at the Missoula Art Museum from 2001 - 2005 and has volunteered for La Leche League of Missoula, Garden City Harvest, Women's Voice for the Earth and Paxson Elementary School. She is on the board of directors of the Bike Walk Alliance for Missoula.
