Run Wild Missoula promotes and supports running and walking as sports for people of all ages and abilities by: educating the general public about the benefits of running and walking; sponsoring and conducting races and other organized events; sponsoring or supporting health and fitness workshops and clinics; publishing a regular newsletter that includes a calendar of events, articles, and results of local races; maintaining a web site that includes general Run Wild Missoula information and running and walking events.
Run Wild Missoula also gives back to the community by donating to other non-profit organizations and supporting projects in the community that promote running and other fitness-related activities.
With almost 1,000 members, RWM has grown more than 10-fold in the last few years. We offer our members many fitness activities, organized group runs, training classes, and of course, races (over a dozen held annually). Participation in our events range from 30 for our fitness classes to over 2,500 runners and walkers in last year’s Missoula Marathon and Half-Marathon. Of particular significance, Run Wild Missoula’s Missoula Marathon was recently voted the best marathon in the nation by the readers of Runner’s World Magazine.
