Most of Run Wild Missoula's races proceeds go back into our organization (We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to promote and support runners and walkers.) so we can continue organizing races and training programs, hosting seminars and promoting running in our community.
Run Wild Missoula also donates to other organizations and projects that benefit running and walking in Missoula. For example, we contribute to Missoula Youth Track each year. We also collaborated with Missoula Parks and Recreation on the mile marker project along the Kim Williams Trail in 2008.
In addition, four out of our 13 annual races are “cause” races. The Scrumpy Jack Scramble benefits Hellgate High School Cross Country, the Missoula Mile benefits prostate cancer prevention, the Hellgate Village 5K proceeds go to the Missoula Alzheimer’s Support Group in honor of Anne Hayes, and the Pumpkin Run proceeds benefit the Missoula Food Bank.
Part of the proceeds from the Missoula Marathon in 2009 also benefited Hellgate Amateur Radio Club, Camp Mak-A-Dream, Red Cross and Opportunity Resources.
