Run Wild Missoula Donates $16,000 to Friends of the M Trail

Run Wild Missoula recently made a commitment to donate $16,000 to the Friends of the M Trail to go toward a renovation of the M Trail trailhead. The M is the most used trail in the state of Montana with an average of 1,000 runners and hikers using the trail each day. Runners use the trail as a gateway to miles of trails on Mt. Sentinel. Specifically, Run Wild Missoula uses the trail during its Trail Running Classes in the spring and the fall and during the Pengelly Double and Single Dip trail runs in June each year.

Run Wild Missoula has appreciated the partnership with Friends of the M Trail and its steward Marilyn Marler of the years. That’s why when Marler came to Run Wild Missoula seeking the donation, the RWM board of directors didn’t hesitate to support the project. We hope you will decide to support it, too. The Friends of the M Trail have a goal of $32,000 to complete the renovation of the trailhead, which will make it feel more welcoming and will foster a meeting place for runners and walkers using the trail. If you are interested in making a donation please do so online at You can also support the project by  purchasing a T-shirt featuring the M Trail at the Runners Edge. 100 percent of your purchase will go to Friends of the M Trail.
