Beginner Fall Trail Running Class

Wanting to add trail running to your routine; but, not sure where to go or what's different between the trails and the roads?  Then join local trail runners Colleen Smith and Vicky Mix, along with other guests, on Thursdays at 6 p.m. for a run on a local trail. This class is for BEGINNING trail runners who want to learn trail running techniques like how to run uphill and downhill, injury prevention, nutrition, footwear, local trail locations and other trail running topics.

  • Participants should expect to run 4 - 6 miles on trails each Thursday evening; 
  • This class is intended for runners who are currently capable of running 4 miles in 40 to 55 minutes.  Note: this is not a run/walk/run class;
  • Class is limited to 20 participants;
  • Participants must be a current Run Wild Missoula member (log in at the top right corner of the website)

Class starts Thursday, August 24, at 6 p.m. and continues through Thursday, October 12. First class will meet at the Run Wild Missoula Office (basement of the Runner's Edge), on Thursday, August 24, at 6 p.m. Come ready to run!

This is a great class for those training for fall trail runs like the Mount Jumbo Elk Ramble (November 4th). The 8-week class starts on Thursday, August 24, and continues until Thursday, October 12.
