Run Wild Missoula
Queer Run Missoula
Second Tuesday of the Month

The Second Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.
This group unifies queer individuals who share the same love for running and walking within the Missoula community. We aim to foster a welcoming space for queer individuals, creating representation of the LGBTQIA+ community within running and walking, both road and trail, ideally becoming examples and voices for others.
This monthly meetup is a casual fun run/walk open to all runners and walkers of all abilities. Each month a 3 and 5 mile route is offered. At the end is a social gathering with libations and food.
This event is reserved for members of the LGBTQIA+ community. While we are grateful for our allies, we’re excited to offer this experience and safe space for our queer community.
Run Wild Missoula membership is not required, but encouraged. Runners are responsible for their own beverage and food purchases. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

Meet the Leaders of Queer Run!
Queer Run is led by an incredible trio: Liz, Devin, and Lauren! Their welcoming energy and passion for building community help make this run a space where everyone can feel comfortable, supported, and celebrated. Be sure to say hello and thank them for helping make this community so special!
Lauren Gardner
Lauren (she/her) is excited to be one of the leaders of RWM’s Queer Run Missoula group. As a “slow and steady” runner, Lauren enjoys seeking out nature and community on her runs around Missoula. Her favorite place to run is up the Rattlesnake. When she’s not planning runs with Queer Run Missoula, you’ll find her birdwatching, packrafting, reading, at The Roxy, or spending time with her spouse and baby girl.
Elizabeth Simpson
Liz (they/any) has been running for almost as long as they can remember. They were already running enough in 3rd grade that when the annual “run the mile” was introduced in gym class, it instantly became a favorite yearly tradition. Running always felt meditative and calming for them, and after a decade of racing cross-country and long-distance track from middle school through college, they transitioned to mostly running on trails. They especially enjoy the beauty, camaraderie, and internal orientation toward community and connection with landscapes that comes out of doing ultramarathons. They relish the ability to move their body to remote and majestic places through what they and their friends call jiking (jog-hiking).
Liz spends their working hours as an educator, ecologist, sewist, and death doula: developing curriculum and teaching place-based college classes, researching interactions in the working landscapes of the West, repairing and designing sustainable gear and apparel, and helping people plan for and be present at the end of life. When they’re not running in Pattee Canyon or Blue Mountain (local trail favorites), you might find them reading magical scifi and nature books, paddling at a lake in the Seely-Swan Valley, or getting a hint of air at the Marshall Mountain jumpline. As a queer person, Liz views the world as full of possibilities (including those we haven’t imagined or realized yet), and they hope that Queer Run helps Missoula’s LGBTQIA+ community find a safe and welcoming space to move and be, together!
Devin Streur
Devin moved to Missoula in 2021 in search of a fresh start and quickly found a community he now proudly calls home. He joined Run Wild Missoula in 2024 after signing up for the Elk Ramble, setting off what he calls a “Run Wild Missoula domino effect” that led him to Queer Run, the Marathon Training Class, and eventually his first half and full marathons. Today, Devin is an avid runner, eight-time road marathoner, and one of the leaders of RWM’s Queer Run. For Devin, running is about much more than miles—it’s a way to connect, challenge himself, give back, and create community. He is passionate about making running welcoming and inclusive for everyone and believes that “running is big enough for all of it.” When he’s not running, Devin loves music, Cold War espionage novels, and apparently knows an impressive amount about Star Trek. His message to anyone finding their place in the running community is simple: “Everybody started somewhere.”
