Monthly BOP Socials – Changes Afoot!

Attendance at monthly BOP socials has been light in these post-pandemic times. As a result, we are planning to hold only two BOP socials in the coming year: October and April at the Lee Metcalf Refuge in Stevensville. “BOP in the Bitterroot” Always draws a crowd. See you there!

The  BOP Bulletin  and  the Run Walk Run Wild Facebook Group  will remain active for ongoing communication. Ideally, they will become a forum for new ideas and volunteer opportunities.
Finally, the RWM Board of Directors and Staff value  BOP representation in club leadership.  They will continue to seek individuals who are interested in becoming involved with the Board, the Missoula Marathon Committee, and other key volunteer roles.

Here is our upcoming BOP Social:

  • October 2023 BOP social will be happening on Saturday, October 14th.
    • Run/Walk Location: Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge (Stevensville) Wildlife viewing area (river trails) parking lot. NOT the Visitor Center! Time: 3:00 PM
    • Notes: Run or walk out and back on Wildfowl Lane: distance of your choice.
    • Reassemble at Wild Wood Brewery at 4018 US Hwy 93 North, Stevensville, MT 59870 (0.5 mile north of the Stevensville Cutoff Road, south of Les Schwab on the east side of the Hwy). Potluck social (bring snacks to share), beverages for purchase.

"I started walking last year for health reasons and joined the walking training group. I enjoyed the structure and camaraderie we had while walking. The group gave me the confidence and encouragement to accomplish three half marathons."
